I could not have imagined that I would one day become a social worker and educator. Prior to beginning my career in social work, I served honorably in the United States Army for nearly five years before transitioning back to civilian life. During my time in the military, I experienced both highs and lows, but I knew that in my post-military life I wanted to help people and make a meaningful impact in the world. Like many others, I have experienced seasons of questioning my purpose, navigating hardships, and learning the importance of self-care and resilience.
Today, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S) with a Doctor of Social Work (D.S.W.) degree. While I am not currently providing therapy services, I am providing clinical supervision to LMSW supervisees. My passion for teaching social work students and supervising interns throughout my previous professional roles inspired my desire to become an LCSW-S and support the next generation of social workers as they grow in confidence, competence, and ethical clinical practice.
In addition to supervision, I work in higher education, where I have the privilege of educating and mentoring future social workers. I am deeply passionate about social work education, professional development, and helping others recognize their strengths and potential within the field.
Outside of work, I am a proud mom who values family, wellness, creativity, and balance. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and dog; engaging in arts and crafts; and participating in causes related to mental health advocacy and social justice. I also continue working on my own wellness journey and self-care so that I can maintain a healthy and fulfilling life both personally and professionally.
